Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

We collect only what we need to run the Program:

• Enrollment details: your name and email address.
• Payment: handled by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number; Stripe provides us your name, email, and payment status. Stripe's own privacy policy applies to the payment itself.
• Wallet address: the Bitcoin address you submit to receive your Starter Position, plus the transaction IDs of the test send and balance send.
• Community and session data: your username on our private student community platform, and attendance at live sessions. Sessions may be recorded; recordings, and any transcripts or summaries of them, are available only to enrolled students and Program staff.
• Basic website data: standard server logs. We may use basic analytics tools to understand overall site traffic. We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell data to advertisers.

We deliberately collect the minimum necessary. We will never ask for your seed phrase, private keys, government ID numbers, or banking details — treat any such request as fraudulent, even if it appears to come from us.

2. How We Use It

• To deliver the Program: scheduling sessions, providing materials, community access, and support.
• To deliver your Starter Position: verifying and recording your wallet address, sending the test amount and balance, and keeping a delivery log (address, dates, transaction IDs) as proof of delivery.
• To communicate with you about your enrollment.
• To meet legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution obligations.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. A Note on Wallet Addresses and the Blockchain

Bitcoin transactions are recorded on a public blockchain. Once your Starter Position is sent, the transaction (addresses and amount) is permanently and publicly visible on-chain — that is how Bitcoin works and is not something we or anyone can delete. Our internal record linking that address to your name is kept private per this policy.

4. Who We Share It With

Only service providers needed to operate: Stripe (payments), our records and productivity provider (currently Google Workspace), our private student community platform, and our email and scheduling providers. Each processes data under its own terms. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to establish or defend legal claims (for example, responding to a payment dispute with enrollment and delivery records). Some providers store data outside Canada (typically the United States); by enrolling you acknowledge this cross-border processing.

5. Retention

We keep enrollment, payment, and Starter Position delivery records (including your wallet address and transaction IDs) for seven years from the end of the year they relate to (meeting and exceeding Canadian tax and record-keeping requirements), then delete them. Community messages persist per the platform's own retention. You may leave the community at any time.

6. Security

Records are kept in access-controlled accounts limited to Program staff. We follow the same practices we teach: minimum data collected, access restricted, and wallet addresses verified through a test-send-and-confirm process before any balance is sent.

7. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law (including PIPEDA in Canada, and for residents of certain jurisdictions such as the EEA/UK or California, your local privacy law), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and may withdraw consent to non-essential processing. Note that we cannot alter the public blockchain, and we may retain records we are legally required to keep. To exercise any right, contact info@thebitcoineducationprogram.com. You may also complain to your local privacy regulator (in Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner).

8. Children

The Program is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and will delete it if discovered.

9. Changes

We may update this policy; the current version will always be posted on this page, with the effective date above. Material changes will be communicated to enrolled students by email.
